Q. What type of franchise is available?
A. iCream Café offers you the opportunity to operate a unique food & beverage
store specializing in customized desserts and other tasty menu items.
Q. How much does the franchise cost?
A. The estimated initial investment to establish an iCream Café Location ranges
from $288,850 to $451,500. This includes a $30,000 franchise fee
Q. How much is the fee for continuing support services?
A. The continuing services, or “royalty” fee, is 5% of your Gross Sales, which must
be paid on a weekly basis. The fee entitles you to use the iCream Café trade name,
and the associated service marks, access to operational systems, marketing
assistance, ongoing business development, consulting and other benefits
that come with being a part of the iCream Café Franchise System.
Q. Will I have a protective territory?
A. You will be granted a protected territory that will be delineated by streets,
highways, zip codes, or natural or political boundaries that represent the selected
location’s primary trade area.
Q. What about advertising?
A. The iCream Café name and reputation is an important part of your business.
You are required to spend at least $2,000 on grand opening advertising during
your first 3 months of operations. We will provide you with guidelines for your
grand opening advertising. Also, you will spend at least 2% of your Gross Sales
on an annual basis on local advertising and promotion.
Q. How much training is provided in the iCream Café system?
A. You or your designated manager will be required to attend an initial training
course for approximately 2 weeks in Chicago. The initial training will focus on
various aspects of your restaurant and includes extensive on-the-job training.
We provide this training to you as part of your Franchise Fee. You will be required
to pay for your travel and accommodations during your stay.
Q. What form of business start-up assistance and ongoing support will I receive?
A. For approximately 7 days around the time you open for business, we will furnish
one of our representatives on site for opening and operations assistance.
In addition, throughout the franchise term, we will provide operational assistance
and guidance in various aspects of your iCream Café Location. We will also
provide you with a copy of the iCream Café Operations Manual containing
specification, standards and procedures.
Q. What is the term of the iCream Café Franchise Agreement?
A. The term of the Franchise Agreement is 10 years from the date the Franchise
Agreement is signed. If you have substantially complied with the terms of
the Franchise Agreement, the franchise is renewable for 2 terms of 10 years.
